AT SIBWEST

OUR HEALTH & SAFETY

At Sibwest, we are dedicated to preventing workplace violence and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all our employees. We make every reasonable effort to protect our workers from injury and occupational disease. Every employee has the right to work in a safe and healthy workplace.

Senior Management, Superintendents, the Corporate Health and Safety Committee, and all employees share a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations. Sibwest demonstrates this commitment through the implementation of our comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Program.

We work collaboratively with the Corporate Health and Safety Committee and our employees to develop, implement, and promote an effective health and safety management system. This shared responsibility aims to reduce and prevent incidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses through a robust Internal Responsibility System.

Our unwavering commitment to health and safety is integral to our daily operations. Our goal is zero lost time due to injuries or occupational illnesses.

Every employee is responsible for adhering to our Health and Safety Policy and Program, Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects, as well as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Regulation 1101.

Superintendents are legally accountable for ensuring the health and safety of workers under their supervision. This includes verifying that machinery and equipment are in safe working order and that employees follow established safe work practices and procedures.

All employees will receive comprehensive job safety orientation before commencing work to protect their health and safety and to ensure compliance with legal and company safety procedures.

In conclusion, Senior Management, Superintendents, the Corporate Health and Safety Committee, and all employees are responsible for demonstrating their commitment to safety by adhering to legislated duties, company policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and protection of everyone on site. Management will review our Health and Safety Management System annually.

Sibwest is committed to providing equal treatment and equitable benefits of its services, programs and facilities in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities.
